Are you looking for a way to make your party more fun than everyone else? Are you looking for a new and different way to bring a sense of adventure and specialty to your gatherings of family and friends? If so, this is the book for you.

“Treasure Hunt-A Book of Clues for Parties” has over 100 clues to use to create a new experience in gift giving. It has beginning and ending clues, action clues, outside clues, clues for every room in your house, and clues for the garage, game room, basement, and attic. There are even a few for extra fun at Christmas.

This book was designed for any party or occasion where a gift or gifts are given. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Baby or Wedding showers, Graduations, even Christmas parties. Why just sit someone down and hand them their gifts when you can have so much more fun making them find them with clues?

In most “Treasure Hunt” parties, the gifts are for an individual, but the clues provide a sense of participation for the guests, and with some of the clues actual participation for everyone. You can also variate your “Treasure Hunt” party by alternating clues to different individuals.

The parties I’ve had have been for adults (who enjoy acting like children) but can also be given for children if they are old enough to read and comprehend the clues.

Take a chance! Here’s wishing you much fun on your quest!

It’s that time of year again. The holiday season has begun. You hear people all over saying joyfully (maybe some not so joyfully) that the Christmas season starts earlier and earlier every year. To me, that is just additional proof that folks everywhere are looking for a reason to celebrate.
First there is Thanksgiving. We in America have so much to be thankful for even though sometimes watching the news makes us think otherwise. Even when times are tough, we have our freedom, and no one can deny that freedom is a gift to be cherished and nurtured.
Before Thanksgiving is even over, (sometimes before it even starts) the Christmas season begins. All the stores are brimming with decorations and gift ideas. Humanity begins to reflect on their blessings and attitudes change. We are all caught up in the spirit of the season. We see each other in a new light during the holidays, and are generally more caring, giving, and sharing during this time of the year than at any other.
We are also thinking about celebration. A celebration of a Birth that has deep meaning for many, and a celebration of our relationships with our families and friends. It’s a time to begin planning our Christmas parties and shopping for Christmas gifts in earnest.
This article is about a new idea in gift giving that you may not have considered before. A Treasure Hunt! A Christmas party gift exchange with your family and friends or even co-workers that involves hiding all the gifts and finding them with clues. Maybe you have considered the idea, but thought it would be too difficult to set up. It’s a lot of work writing clues, hiding gifts, and having a plan that takes you from beginning to end smoothly. Not anymore! With my book Treasure Hunt-A Book of Clues for Parties, the clues are already written and ready to go. You can even change or modify them to fit your particular group or theme. I can tell you from experience that it’s worth the time you spend to make your special event memorable.
Most gift giving parties have only one person receiving gifts, and a Treasure Hunt is a great way to liven up Birthdays, Anniversaries, Wedding or Baby Showers, but a gift exchange at Christmas can involve everyone there. I had a Treasure Hunt Christmas party for co-workers one year, and we had so much fun that I’d like to share it with you. We all drew names and then brought a gift for the person whose name we drew. We hid the gifts all together and had a Treasure Hunt to find them. In this example, everyone was receiving a gift so we alternated the clues from one person to the next until the gifts were found. We were singing and acting and laughing all the way. It was easy to do. We gave the host (Shirley) the beginning clue in a card. The beginning clue led Shirley to the next clue which had written on the outside of it: Do not open-Give to John. The clue was given to John, who opened it, did what was required, and was given the next clue on which was written: Do not open-Give to Van. We alternated clues from co-worker to co-worker until at the end, all the gifts that were hidden together we forund and opened by all. It was all pretty simple. Several of us got together, chose the clues we wanted to use from the book, and decided who would get each clue. The gift exchange was so much more fun than if we had just handed each other our gifts.
A Treasure Hunt is a unique way to make any gift giving occasion more fun. You don’t even need an occasion. Maybe you have a teenager, spouse, or co-worker that is constantly leaving things where they don’t belong. You can hide anything, anytime, from anyone, and make a point by making them find their things with clues. You may be thinking that a Treasure Hunt is just for kids, but I can tell you that adults enjoy the experience just as much. This is what memories are made of, and your family and friends will be talking about it for years to come. Make sure to videotape your party. You won’t regret it!

I can’t think of a more joyous time for a couple than when they are expecting a baby. From the moment they first get that positive test, they begin their ride on the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy that lasts until they bring their new baby home. There’s excitement, curiosity, happiness, and anxiety. If it’s their first baby, they want to learn everything they can about the nine month journey they have just begun. So many questions cross their minds daily. They wonder if they will be good parents, if the baby will be a boy or a girl, and most importantly if their baby will be happy and healthy. There are so many things to think about during that time, that they sometimes might feel a little overwhelmed.

Later in the pregnancy, there is one area of concern that family and friends are able to step in and help out with. A new baby needs a lot of attention and love, but they also need a lot of stuff. They need cribs and playpens, toys and bottles, clothes and diapers, the list goes on and on. Therein lies the beauty of the baby shower.

A baby shower is undeniably one of the most helpful things the family and friends can do for the new parents to be. Most new parents receive many of the things they will need for that special day when they bring their baby home.

This article is for those of you that are planning a baby shower. Why not make it a Treasure Hunt? Why just sit the new mom and/or dad down and hand them gifts, when you could have so much more fun making them find them with clues? There are a lot of great baby shower games, but the grand finale would be the treasure hunt. It offers an opportunity for guest participation that isn’t available at your standard gift giving party, and provides an icebreaking effect because the action involved helps alleviate any possible discomfort of having a lot of people come together in a situation where they might not know each other well enough for conversation alone to carry the day.

You may have considered the idea of a treasure hunt in the past, but thought it would be too difficult to set up. It’s a lot of work writing clues, hiding gifts, and coming up with a plan that takes you from beginning to end smoothly. But not any more! With my book, most of the work is already done. It has beginning clues, ending clues, action clues(the seeker has to do things to get the clue), outside clues, clues for every room in your house, and clues for the garage, game room, basement, and attic. Over 100 clues for gift giving fun for any occasion. I can tell you from experience, that it’s worth the time you spend to make your special event memorable.

Typically with a treasure hunt, you hide all the gifts together and have the person receiving them go from clue to clue until all the gifts are found. Because babies need so many little things as well as the big things, it offers an opportunity for some variation in how you plan your treasure hunt. You could hide numerous small things such as pacifiers, rattles, thermometers, bottles, little combs and brushes, nail clippers, etc. with the clues so that the new parents find something every time they find a clue. If both parents are attending, you could also alternate the clues from mom to dad by writing on the outside of the clue: This clue is for Mom, or this clue is for Dad. The bigger gifts would be hidden together to be opened at the end. There is a lot of room for you as the host, to use your own imagination and talents to modify the clues to fit the new mom or dad to be.

A Treasure Hunt can be used for any occasion, or no occasion at all. Birthdays, Wedding Showers, Anniversaries, or Christmas parties all offer an opportunity for a unique experience in gift giving. You may even have a teenager, spouse, or co-worker who is always leaving things where they don’t belong. You can make a point by making them find their things with clues.

I hope you consider a Treasure Hunt for your next special occasion. This is what memories are made of, and your friends and family will be talking about your party for years to come. Make sure to videotape it. You won’t regret it!

It will soon be spring once again. Spring means warmer weather, trees and flowers blooming, and love in the air. Spring and summer are traditionally the most popular months of the year for weddings.

Because there are many weddings during this time period, there are also a lot of family members and friends planning wedding showers for the bride and groom to be. Those planning the showers are now looking for new and different ideas for activities and games to make their shower stand out from the crowd, and be a memorable event for all involved.

This article is about a new idea that you may not have considered before. You could make your wedding shower a Treasure Hunt! Maybe you have considered the idea, but thought it would be too difficult to set up. It’s a lot of work writing clues, hiding gifts, and having a plan that takes you from beginning to end smoothly. But not anymore. With my book, most of the work is already done. It has beginning clues, ending clues, action clues(the seeker has to do things to get the clue), outside clues, clues for every room in your house, and clues for the garage, game room, basement, and attic. Over 100 clues for gift giving fun for any occasion.I can tell you from experience, that it’s worth the time you spend to make your special event memorable.

There are a lot of great shower games out there, like the game where you team up and see which team can come up with the best toilet paper wedding dress, or the bride asks questions and the guest that comes up with the most correct answer receives a prize. They are great games, but the grand finale would be the “Treasure Hunt”.

A wide range of gifts are given at wedding showers. They might consist of lingerie, gag gifts, or things that the new couple will need as they begin their lives together. Instead of just handing them their gifts, why not make them find their gifts with clues? There are several ways that this can be done. All the gifts could be hidden together in a certain spot to be found at the end of the hunt, or individual gifts could be hidden with the clues so that the bride and/or groom to be finds one every time they go from one clue to the next. The party could even be set up so that each guest could read the clue that takes the happy couple to their particular gift. The final clue could be the one that takes them to the gift that the host considers to be the one most desired by the couple, or even a monetary gift hidden in a treasure chest.

A Treasure Hunt is a fun and unique way to use your imagination and talents to create a new shower game that includes not only the bride and groom, but also all of the guests in the gift giving process.

Some clues you only have to find

With some you have to do

Whatever task your host requests

Before you get your clue

You might be digging in your yard

Or checking your dog house

You might receive a clue e-mail

Or be crawling like a mouse

Your host might choose to make you wear

Things hidden with your clue

There is no end to all the things

Your host might make you do

All throughout history, people have been looking for ways to make their parties different by incorporating hunts to add an aspect of action. Easter egg Hunts and scavenger hunts are just two successful examples of turning a regular occasion into something more appealing and adding a sense of anticipation for the final result, which in this case is the actual finding of the gifts.

A Treasure Hunt can be for any occasion, or no occasion at all. Maybe you have a teenager, spouse, or co-worker that is constantly leaving things where they don’t belong. You can hide anything, anytime, from anyone, and make a point by making them find their things with clues. This is what memories are made of, and your friends and family will be talking about it for years to come. Make sure to video tape your party. You won’t regret it!

Hey everyone,

Just a guick note to let you know that while this book is great for a Treasure Hunt for children (as long as the children can read and comprehend the clues), it works equally well for any occasion parties for adults. Most of the parties I’ve had have been for adults, including a Christmas Party gift exchange, An anniversary party for my parents, and a theme birthday party for my husband. We all enjoyed finding the gifts and the clues provide an ice breaking effect, and opportunities for guest participation in the hunt. A couple of the clues are specifically aimed at adults. I guess you could call them cocktail clues. Just wanted to let you know. THIS BOOK IS NOT JUST FOR KIDS. Adults need a little fun too!
